This is an actual conversation Your Humble Servant (hereinafter YHS) had with His Son (hereinafter  HS) recently:

HS: Dad, was I born in black and white?

YHS (puzzled): What do you mean?

HS: I've seen on TV how in the past, the world used to be in black and white.

YHS (amused and relieved): Well ...

This happened earlier this evening:

My son (4, and who's had a runny tummy lately) asked me: "Can diarrhoea kill you?". The wee lad had a very worried look on his face.

So I tried to put him out of his misery: "No, of course not."

Wee lad: "But how come it has 'die' in its name?"
